About the role:
As Director Supply Chain Development & Performance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping BioNTech’s global supply chain strategy and driving its evolution to meet future growth and innovation needs. You will lead transformative initiatives across planning, logistics, systems, digitalization, and customer supply to deliver sustainable value and enhance organizational effectiveness. This position offers the opportunity to define advanced performance measures, implement innovative capabilities, and establish a world-class operating model that aligns with BioNTech’s corporate strategy.
Your contribution:
- Develop and govern the global Supply Chain Performance Management framework to drive operational excellence
- Lead the strategic development of future-ready supply chain capabilities and organizational excellence
- Establish governance structures for transformation programs from concept to implementation
- Define end-to-end KPI architectures and dashboards for enhanced performance visibility
- Create financial frameworks for supply chain costs; optimize budgets and improve cost efficiency
- Drive automation, digitalization, and AI initiatives across the supply chain organization
- Develop strategic scenarios for proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Build end-to-end visibility of supply chain risks across suppliers, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, quality, and distribution
- Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement within the organization
- Provide analytics and insights to support strategic decision-making
A good match:
- Academic degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field and experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or other regulated industries
- Extensive leadership experience in global supply chain operations across planning, logistics, digitalization, finance, manufacturing, quality assurance, and executive functions
- Proven track record of delivering measurable business impact through transformation programs in complex environments
- Strong expertise in financial frameworks development, KPI structures implementation, risk management processes creation, and continuous improvement strategies execution
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma principles alongside experience managing change for large-scale programs
- Strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at executive levels
- Passion for innovation and organizational development with a proactive mindset to drive initiatives independently
- Fluent English; German language skills are an advantage
